Medical Needs Kimberly first joined the Los Gozosos family in February 2019. After getting specialized care, she was able to be reunified with her family. However, after some time, Kimberly, 9 years old, came to Los Gozosos severely malnourished, weighing just 12 pounds. Through a generous donation, she was hospitalized for several months in a special program, which raised her weight to 24 pounds. Upon leaving the hospital, she received her nutrition through a nasal tube, and her weight has increased to 50 pounds. Still underweight for her age, but improving daily. In December 2022, Kimberly was healthy enough for surgery to get a gastric tube. If you would like more information about Kimberly's special medical needs, contact us for more information.

Did you know, that on average, the cost of raising a child with disabilities is four times as much as raising a child with none?  Our children deserve the very best medical care available, so they can lead productive lives.  In order to provide that to them, we need your help.  The cost of doctors, hospital visits, physical therapy, and monthly prescriptions can add up quickly, and is one of the biggest expenses the children's home faces.  In addition to regular medical care, nursing and therapy personnel (both occupational and physical therapists) are a regular part of the staff at the home.
