Medical Needs Gudiel has Distal Paraparesis resulting in partial paralysis of his legs. He is non-verbal, but there is a possibility, with physical and occupational therapy, that he can learn to walk. He and his siblings (who are not disabled and are at a nearby orphanage) were rescued together and get to visit often. We appreciate the help provided for the specialized medical equipment and occupational therapy he requires. Did you know, that on average, the cost of raising a child with disabilities is four times as much as raising a child with none? Our children deserve the very best medical care available, so they can lead productive lives. In order to provide that to them, we need your help. The cost of doctors, hospital visits, physical therapy, and monthly prescriptions can add up quickly, and is one of the biggest expenses the children's home faces. In addition to regular medical care, nursing and therapy personnel (both occupational and physical therapists) are a regular part of the staff at the home.
